Crane Calculator FAQs

What additional information do I need to provide to get an accurate price estimate?

To give an accurate price estimate along with the weight and radius of the lift, we will also need to know the following:

  • The dimensions/size of the load
  • Height of the lift
  • Any any additional support or specialist equipment you will require
  • Site access limitations
  • Proximity to powerlines or other hazardous objects

If you are unsure of the above , you can always send through PDF drawings including site layout so we can make our own assessment. See our article on The Different Costs of Crane Hire for more information.

There are a number of factors that may impact the size of the crane required for the lift. The weight to be lifted, the distance from the centre of the crane to the centre of the load, the maximum unloading position for the load and any obstacles that are between the crane and unloading points. Please try and summarise these items when completing the price estimate form or call our office on (03) 9311 1499 to discuss your options.

We have three main types of cranes:

The type of crane you will need to hire depends on your lifting requirements and the characteristics of the worksite that must be considered in selecting the right crane.
