How do we Calculate the Crane Hire Price?

The costs of the hire will very much depend on the size of the crane, any additional support requirements and any specialist equipment requirements. We will also advise you as to the time we need access to the site to ensure prompt commencement of loads at the desired time.

How long does it take to hire a crane?

Depending on demand we strive to provide our customers cranes when they are needed on short notice. Generally speaking however, the wait time on a standard hire is 2 days and for more complex operations up to a weeks notice.

What information do I need to supply in order to obtain a price estimate?

The weight and dimensions of the load along with any site access limitations. If you are unsure, you can always send through PDF drawings including site layout so we can make our own assessment. Please also notify of any power lines close by as the proximity of power lines will impact your crane options and may also require a permit.

What type of crane do I need?

There are three basic types of cranes which are the all terrain, truck mounted or specialist cranes to which the most suitable will be dependent on your lifting requirements and the characteristics of the worksite that must be considered in selecting the right crane.

When do I start paying for the crane?

Crane hire begins once the crane leaves our depot until the time it returns. To ensure clarity around this we will agree to a set travel time in advance so you have confidence in our pricing.

Set up times will vary depending on the crane configuration required to execute the lift. This will include the time taken for the operator to familiarise themselves with the site as well as performing the daily operating procedures required prior to commencing the lift. This set up time can vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the crane.
