Steve started Premier Cranes & Rigging with Co-Director Matt Clark back in 2008. Starting a business to Steve was about empowering employees to see their long-term future centered around Premier. Not willing to follow the pack, Steve sought to establish a best practice, a systems-based business structure allowing for transparency and consistency within each job role. Entering the next phase of scaling Premier Cranes, Steve and Matt focus on designing the vision and future of Premier and dedicating themselves to our clients and target markets. Furthermore, as Premiers new Head of Business Development, Steve is responsible for for leading and overseeing the whole of the business development functions as derived from our Strategic Intent. He oversees sales projections and planning, by setting and maintaining Premier’s pricing strategy and driving the Sales Department to successfully create pipelines of work with new target clients and existing valued clients.

Together with long-time colleague and friend Steve, Matt started Premier Cranes & Rigging back in 2008. For Matt, understanding the specific needs of our clients to consistently ensure we are delivering on customer satisfaction, is an integral aspect of each job. Entering the next phase of scaling Premier Cranes, Matt & Steve focus on designing the vision and future of Premier and dedicating themselves to our clients and target markets. Matts commitment to being ‘on the ground’ has enabled Premier to consistently cater for every client with the kind of service that one would expect from a smaller business, while at the same time growing our fleet and crew to its current size.
Chi Shankar
Chief Executive Officer
As Premiers CEO, Chi is responsible for developing Premiers strategy and position in the market. She works closely with the company’s Directors to turn their entrepreneur vision into reality. From the 11 years she has been involved with Premier Cranes, Chi has established a thorough understanding of all facets of the business. With over 12 years experience across a range of sub contractor industries, a Chartered Accountant background, and registered as a Commercial and Residential builder, she is more than capable of leading Premier to achieve a whole new level of success. Chi has a passion for identifying areas for improvement and strategically designing the best way to implement them. She has a growth mindset, strong commercial and client engagement skills. Having combined work and study from a young age and later on with work and family, discipline is embedded in her.
Jamie Shanahan

As Premiers COO, Jamie is responsible for working closely with Premier’s leadership team to execute the company’s strategy in collaboration with the CEO. With more than 15 years experience in senior Management in the crane industry, Jamie is a high achiever with a diverse background (AFL Coach, General Manager, and studying towards a Masters Degree in Gestalt Therapy) and a focus on finance. As an outcome-focused leader, Jamie manages teams with empathy and constructively challenges team members to work through problems and create solutions in line with Premier’s strategy.

With a natural passion for understanding our clients and the capabilities of our cranes, Travis’ skill set is invaluable. Accompanied by his extensive on-field experience working on significant and challenging projects, he produces effective and innovative lifting solutions that suit every client’s need.
